Harbourview Inn is a family-run Bed & Breakfast facility. We do not operate a 24-hour front desk. Check-in commences at 3pm and closes at 8.30pm. If you need our help to accommodate an earlier or later arrival, please contact us before your arrival date so we can make arrangements. Depending on timing, we may have to charge a late arrival fee.
We operate a limited bar service for the convenience of our guests. The bar will usually close with the front desk at 8.30pm, but may be kept open for guest convenience if desired. 10pm will be the latest closing time.
All rates are quoted in Canadian dollars (CAD), are based on two people occupying the room or suite, and include a full breakfast. There is a charge of $20 for each additional person staying in the same suite. Please add 15% Sales Tax.
All of our rooms are non-smoking environments. Guests who wish to smoke may do so outside the Harbourview Inn. We provide a tented gazebo with ashtrays for your convenience. There is a charge of $200 to cover costs for extra cleaning and sanitizing for guests who smoke in their rooms.
PLEASE NOTE: Rooms cancelled at short notice cannot easily be filled. Therefore, because of our small size, cancellations affect us significantly, Accordingly, we adhere to a strict policy.
To avoid being charged for your room(s), please give us at least 72 hours' notice prior to check-in of 3:00 PM on the planned day of your arrival in order to cancel or change a reservation.
No refunds will be given for an early departure. We highly recommend travel insurance.
At the time of making a reservation, we require a deposit of $25 per day of your stay. This deposit is fully refundable as long as the reservation is canceled at least seven days prior to check-in time. Rates/policies are subject to change and vary during high impact periods and special events.
A 30-day cancellation notice is required for reservations of more than four rooms and for special events.
Well-behaved and house-trained dogs are welcome at Harbourview Inn. Owners are liable for any damage caused by their dogs. We charge a nominal fee of $10 per night to cover extra cleaning costs. A maximum of two pets per room will be permitted. Owners must keep their pets on a leash in all public areas of the Inn.
Your dog will be welcomed and treated well at Harbourview Inn, but there are one or two unavoidable restrictions. In compliance with Nova Scotia health regulations, dogs are unfortunately not allowed in the dining room at breakfast. And dogs are not allowed the swimming pool area.
Guests of Harbourview Inn have full access to the swimming pool and recreation area that neighbors the inn. The pool and recreation facility is run by the Harbourview Cottagers Association, of which the Inn is a member. Rules relating to the use of this facility are posted in each room, and guests are expected to abide by these rules. The pool is usually opened from 15 June, and closed mid-September.
